I arrived at Tussey Mt. Ampitheatre at around 2am night before the show. Slept in my car in a nearby National Forest until about 5:30am then went to the venue...aka a ski slope with nothing but an orange plastic temp fence around the entrance. Absolutely no one was there except for a kid who'd came down from NY and incidentally gave me my first Dylan cassette bootleg (Manchester 66). We spent the next few hours inside the little orange fence. The stage roof had not been lifted yet so we ended up on the stage, with a friend of mine hanging from the rafters. Eventually we got bored and went to get in line when others started arriving. This was a Gen Admin show so first come first serve. Me and my friends were 2nd behind the guy from NY and they let us in sometime early afternoon in which we RAN to the center of the stage right on the rail and through our blanket down. The guitar tech came out later at some point, clipped the extra string off the head of his newly restrung strat and looked at us....then through them out about 3ft to the audience (us) and I still have that piece of guitar string to this day. It was a nice show, nothing special but I remember it was nice seeing him in broad daylight even though it rained on and off. I remember Bob would take a towel and throw it down on the ground in front of him and use his leg to wipe up was apparently rain water lol. Yeah it took forever to get out of that mud hole but we were young and that was the experience. I grew to know PSB (Peter) quite well over the years due to our love of Bob and playing his music. I was very sad to hear he left us, I enjoyed getting emails every once ina while checking in.
