This dates to a 1989 interview by Adrian Deevoy, who was given this script from Jeff Kramer as advice on the best way to talk to Bob.
Kramer offered Deevoy advice on how to “discuss the best way to talk to Bob.”
Don’t treat it like an interview. It has to be a conversation. Bob will clam up or wander
off if you fire a volley of questions at him. Try not, in fact, to ask any question.
Do not treat him like a God. It wigs him out.
Don’t ask who Mr. Jones is or the motorcycle crash, any of that corny Dylanologist stuff.
Don’t pretend you know about anything you don’t. He’ll see through you straight away.
