Celebrating an American Icon
Bob Dylan Birthday Bash
Sunday, May 24th, 2 - 5 pm
Tomkins Corners will honor Bob Dylan’s (and our late founder John Cohen) legendary influence on music and culture with an afternoon of live performances, poetry readings, and storytelling inspired by his work. We’ll pay tribute to the late Tony Brown, a friend and bassist on Blood on the Tracks, and his brother Peter Stone Brown.
The Complete Unknowns, an eclectic powerhouse group of talented musicians, will take you on a journey through Dylan's timeless catalog, as well as tunes by The Dead, The Band, and others.
In addition to the music, the event will feature special guests, poetry readings, and a tribute to Tompkins Corners’ founding member, John Cohen (of the Lost City Ramblers who died in 2019), who photographed a young Bob Dylan in New York City, near Dylan's home in Greenwich Village, and in Putnam Valley around Cohen's farmhouse.
Fine crafts will be offer. Kids can do a craft project using materials from Retake/Remake.
This family-friendly event will be held outdoors, weather permitting, with plenty of space for guests to relax and enjoy the festivities. Bring a picnic, lawn chairs, and your love of Dylan! *In case of rain, the celebration will move indoors.
